Beyonce happy to turn (40) 30

Beyonce Knowles insists she has “calmed down” about her big birthday later this summer.

The Single Ladies singer says she used to fret about leaving her twenties behind but, with her 30th birthday looming, she’s feeling good about hitting a new era in her life.

“I used to think it was a big deal and that there were certain things I had to do by the time I was 30 but I’m feeling chilled about it now,” says Beyonce.

“It’s not long now and I’m feeling good about being 30. I’m relaxed and excited about it.”

Beyonce recently revealed she enjoys spending time by the ocean because it makes her feel like a new person and gives her “perspective” on her life.

“I’m always happiest when I’m surrounded by water, I feel like a mermaid, I think I was a mermaid,” she said.

“The ocean makes me feel really small and it puts my whole life in perspective. It reminds me I’m a very little piece of this huge earth and it humbles me and grounds me .It makes me feel almost like I’ve been baptised and I’m born again when I get out of the ocean.”
